Draft older Persons Act
 The Draft Older Persons Act was completed at the end of December 2007. The funding to produce this document was acquired from UNFPA (United National Population Fund)
At the present time Older People in Belize have no legal protection against abuse or exploitation and therefore the drafting of an Act will be the first legal document that entitled them to protection under the law.
Process
As a draft, the Act will need to be submitted to the Minister of Human Development and after approval, and then be passed to the Solicitor General before being presented to the Cabinet for ratification.
